Review on the Korean Museum of Urbanism and Architecture (KMUA) published in SPACE
A critical review of the Architecture and Urbanism policy related to the KMUA - projected to be built by 2023 - has been published in Korea’s leading Architecture journal SPACE. 

In the article ‘Cultural Institutions as Urban Planning and Image Management Tools’ Klaas Kresse (Ewha Womans University) and Marta Ramalho Kresse Bastos (Hanyang University) raise questions about the role of the museum from an urban planning and cultural policy perspective. The authors support the locational choice of Sejong, rather than Seoul for this new institution but also point out the thread of creating a so-called ‘white elephant’ when not embedding the new museum into a wider context of supporting policies and ending mechanisms.
